Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card for the free tier?
No. Sign up with email, get your API keys instantly. The free tier is fully functional with no time limit, use it in production if it fits your needs.
What happens when I hit a usage limit?
API calls return 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header. Your existing data and calendars are never affected. Upgrade anytime to increase your limits, or wait for the monthly counter to reset.
What counts as an API call?
Every HTTP request to the /v1/* endpoints counts as one API call. MCP tool invocations also count (each tool call is one API call). Health checks (/health) and iCal feed requests (/ical/*.ics) do not count.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. No lock-in contracts.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
We're evaluating annual billing options. When available, it will include a meaningful discount. Follow us on X or join our Discord for updates.
Do you offer custom enterprise plans?
Yes. If you need custom rate limits, dedicated support, SLA guarantees, or volume pricing, contact us at [email protected].
How does the iCal subscription limit work?
The limit is on inbound subscriptions (external calendars your agents watch). The iCal feeds your calendars generate (outbound) are always unlimited and free on all plans.
Can Chronary connect to Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook?
Yes. A human authorizes Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook in the Chronary console, chooses which calendars contribute private busy time, and maps access to selected agents, all current agents, or current and future agents. Event publishing back to a chosen human calendar is optional. Agents use the same Chronary API and never receive OAuth tokens or private event details.
